Established in the market town of Machynlleth in 1983, Advice Mid Wales was originally part of the Citizens Advice network. We became an independent registered charity in 2005 so that we could best continue to meet the needs of our local community (Registered Charity No. 1111040).
We are members of Advice UK, the country's largest professional body representing the independent advice sector. Over the last 40 years we have developed strong ties within our community and have become widely known for the quality of the services we offer. Our dedicated team of staff and volunteers are professional, knowledgeable and approachable. We also have a board of Trustees made up of representatives from the wider community. Each year we handle an increasing number of cases and enquiries, and no matter what the problem, we strive to provide a helping hand.
With over 40 years of experience, we are an independent charity firmly rooted in the local community. Our local knowledge and dedication allow us to respond swiftly and effectively to the individual needs of the people we serve.
We provide personalised, flexible services tailored to each individual. Whether through in-person appointments, outreach services or home visits for those unable to travel, we ensure our support meets the specific needs of each person we assist.
We work closely with local organisations such as the Bro Ddyfi Food Bank, CAMAD and the Taj Mahal Community Hub. This collaborative approach strengthens our impact and deepens our connection to the community.
Our team provides professional, regulated advice across a range of areas. We are also the only centre in the area offering representation at first-tier tribunals, ensuring clients receive experienced support.
